How has a week gone by already??? It's hard to believe, but I think it's true. Today was kind of a fun day, we just kind of walked around and explored the city. We didn't really leave the City Centre which is where most of the shops are, but we tried to go a little out of our way to get there to start to feel out the place where we're going to be living for the next four or so months. After getting up around noon ( ;-] ) Brennah from Arkansas, and I went out on the town.

| We found this cute little Italian coffe shop called Caffe Nero where I finally got my first successful cup of coffee. Potentially the best White Chocolate Mocha I've ever had. We met this cute little old couple, John and Mary, who were practically clones of my Grandma and Grandpa Gibbons. John was very quiet and traditional and told me that he still lived in the 60's and didn't like to change with the times (sound familiar..?). Mary was a sweetheart and telling me all of these places to make sure to go out and explore while here. She, like many others I've talked to, referred to the city of Preston as "dePreston" because there isn't much to do here and the weather tends to make you sad. If this is a bad place, I think I'm in the right place, because I love it here and I guess that means it can only get better! |

| Later, after we met up with Emily and Brianna, both from New York, we found another cute little coffee shop off of Charnley Street. Brennah got this super good strawberry hot chocolate and throughout the cafe they had all of these cute little paintings. Upstairs looked like a small flat with all kinds of rooms and vintage-y furniture that I totally wish I could ship back to the states because it was all so cute and cheap. (Mental note - Mom remind me to take you here!) |

| This is at the far end of the City Centre shopping area that we always go to and is the library. They had all kinds of old artifacts and paintings which I guess I'm going to have to start appreciating.. |
| I've literally been waiting for this picture since I found out that I was coming to England. Don't be surprised if you see many more like this.. Not gonna lie, it was a littly grimey in there.. |
| These are the girls that I have been running around with. Brennah is on the left, Emily is next to me in the middle, and Brianna is on the far right. |
| Next to all of these beautiful paintings and sculptures is this representation of America. Solid. |
| This one is for you, Haley. I haven't seen any dogs on the street yet, but I figured this would suffice for now.. |
Just kind of a pretty picture of our Library as we were headed home today. Very chique and modern on the inside.

I really wasn't planning on updating this as much as I have been, but it's been kind of fun since all of this is so new and exciting. Maybe I should start buckling down and actually start (or at least attempt to look at) some of the stuff for my online classes. I had my first class here on Monday. It went well for the most part. It's going to be quite difficult to understand his super thick Irish accent, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon enough.
If this really is considered "dePreston" like everyone says and I'm having this much fun here already, I can't wait to find out what everywhere else around here is like!
